On October 25, 2021, the updated Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) came into force, in which the Lada Vesta Sport and SW Sport appeared. Both bodies have been approved and are ready for full-scale production. In mid-August of this year, the new product was noticed during transportation, and a little later the new product was officially presented. At the beginning of October, the first test drive of the car was released, and after a while we learned about the prices for the new product.
Soon a station wagon in a sports version also appeared. No technical information about the station wagon was leaked online, but we immediately figured that it would be little different from the sedan. But you can also get some information from OTTS. Announced two years ago, the Vesta Sport concept car is not much different from the production model. Which is surprising and unexpected, since previous models have significant differences.
The car received a forced 1.8-liter gasoline engine. The “heart” works in tandem with a five-speed manual transmission from Renault. Together, the mechanisms produce 145 horsepower, 187 Nm of torque, and a top speed of 198 km/h.
The first “hundred” is achieved in 9.6 seconds, the “maximum speed” is 198 km/h. Unfortunately, the model is not equipped with a turbocharger.
In the future, the manufacturer is considering the possibility of equipping the car with a variator from the Japanese manufacturer Jatco.
Car enthusiasts are familiar with the CVT from the Nissan model range. The transmission has proven itself well: with a long service life, available spare parts, and a budget price.
At the same time, the CVT is designed for a quiet, moderate driving style, but not for an aggressive, sporty one.
The all-wheel drive version is completely excluded, as this will automatically increase fuel consumption and reduce dynamic performance.
Unlike previous models, 20 mm of ground clearance was taken away from Vesta Sport. It is 162 mm. The basic configuration is equipped with a rear spoiler, an original front bumper, as well as extended wheel arches and decorative door sills.
Fuel consumption is 8.5 – 9.0 liters in the combined cycle.
The manufacturer did not forget about aerodynamic performance, increasing the size of the standard wheel rims by 17 inches, installing low-profile tires, and a rear bumper with branches for exhaust pipes.
The front suspension is MacPherson type, the rear is wishbone type, independent.
In order to improve the quality of handling, the standard chassis was modified. We installed racks with increased rod stroke. The new product has strengthened steering knuckles and disc brakes with an increased diameter.

The Lada Vesta Sport sedan, which debuted at the International Moscow Motor Show 2021, embodies the best engineering achievements of AvtoVAZ. According to Togliatti, this model was built using racing technologies, while it is perfectly balanced for daily city driving. Comparing the Lada Vesta Sport with the standard Vesta, one cannot help but note the more rapid proportions achieved due to enlarged body arches, a widened track of both axles, spectacular alloy wheels with low-profile wheels, special aerodynamic bumpers, a rear diffuser, and aggressive double exhaust pipes. At the same time, the Lada Vesta Sport is distinguished by slightly increased dimensions - it has increased by 10 mm in length and width, the ground clearance has been expectedly lowered, now it is 140 mm, which is minus 31 mm compared to the classic Lada Vesta. To increase dynamics, engineers increased downforce on the front (up to 7.8 kg from 33) and rear axles (up to 11.6 kg from 22.2). For the first time, the Lada has a cornering light function - depending on the turn of the steering wheel in the dark, the left or right fog lights are additionally connected.
The interior of the Lada Vesta Sport combines recognizable architecture and contrasting decorative elements, indicating the sporty nature of the car. The sedan's suspension has received updated settings - from now on the driver can choose one of three chassis operating modes: excitement, information content or comfort. The electronic stabilization assistant in the Lada Vesta Sport can be turned off; when turned on, it works later than usual - this will allow you to get maximum pleasure in high-speed driving. The 1.8-liter engine has been modernized - for better performance, the valve timing algorithms have been changed, original camshafts have been used and the pressure in the fuel system has been increased. This power plant will work with a classic 5-speed manual; an automatic transmission is not provided. In addition, the fastest Vesta received improved brakes - brake discs with an increased diameter are installed at the front, while the rear ones remain unchanged.
The Lada Vesta sports sedan has two trim levels: Luxe and Luxe Multimedia. The basic equipment includes branded R17 wheels, a spoiler, combined interior trim (eco leather and Alcantara), LED interior lighting, an on-board computer, two 12V sockets, a multifunction steering wheel, and an audio system with 6 speakers. Additional comfort in the Lada Vesta Sport interior is provided by a climate system, a cooled glove box, 3-level heating of the front seats, electric windows for the front and rear doors - all these functions are also included in the standard equipment of the model. The Luxe Multimedia package additionally includes a heated windshield, a rear view video camera and a multifunctional media complex with navigation (7-inch Touchscreen display, USB, AUX, Hands Free function). Two front airbags, an electronic stability control system, hill start assist, auxiliary braking function, high-performance disc brakes, fog lights and DRLs are available in all Lada Vesta Sport lines.

Vesta Sport is equipped with new, reinforced hubs with five holes for fixation.
There are rumors that the design was copied from Renault Megane, but now this is not so important. But the 17-inch wheels on low-profile Continental tires look simply amazing.
The brake discs have been enlarged by 20 mm in diameter to improve braking performance. The air filter housing on the Lada Vesta Sport is borrowed from the sedan , identical, and interchangeable.

Considering that many of the most important details of the configuration of the Lada Vesta car in the WTCC version are still unknown, it should not be surprising that almost no one (except, perhaps, the designers) knows the exact configuration of the interior. However, in general, this can be easily predicted - the approximate interior of all racing cars has a large number of common characteristics.
The main requirement for a car interior is its convenience, first and foremost, for the driver. Most likely, the rear row of seats will be completely removed to make the car lighter and for better acceleration. The driver's seat must have a high level of comfort for the driver of the Lada Vesta "Sport", be anatomically accurate and have a large number of adjustment options (height, tilt, rollout). The same applies to the steering column - the driver must be as focused as possible, since mistakes and inattention at racing speeds are tantamount to death.
As for such elements as the radio, interior lighting and air conditioning, these elements are unlikely to be subject to major changes, since they are not of significant significance for the driver of a racing car. Technical characteristics are of much greater importance - and in the Lada Vesta “Sport” they are at an unprecedented level (which can be easily seen by watching a video from a test drive of a sedan model concept).

Exterior
The atypical shape of the front and rear bumpers is the main highlight of the new Vesta. Thanks to this, she is recognized from afar.
An “X-shaped” style runs along the entire perimeter of the body. The niches for the fog lights have become deeper, with small protrusions around the perimeter.
The final design element is a nameplate with the inscription “Sport” framed in red. It was copied from the Skoda Octavia.
On the sides you can see plastic door sill trims, the so-called “skirt”. The brand logo is applied to the surface.
The standard antenna of the radio is made in the form of a shark fin, similar to that installed on the basic versions of the SV and SV Cross.
The biggest changes affected the rear. New bumper with splitter for two exhaust pipe tips. There are pre-installed massive black ventilation inserts on the side.
The trunk lid is decorated with a small spoiler with a built-in brake light. At the bottom of the cover there is an information plate “VESTA Sport”.
The color scheme is presented in classic shades: black, blue, metallic, white, gray, Arctic, white night, yellow.

Interior
The interior frame is not much different from previous Lada Vesta models. Rather, the manufacturer worked on the little things rather than introducing fundamental solutions.
The steering wheel is neatly trimmed with eco-leather, red thread in the seam. The front seats have pronounced lateral support, like a real sports car.
For the first time, metal pads with rubber inserts were installed on the pedals. This prevents your foot from slipping while driving.
Bright colors were added to the dashboard, in particular red, which edged the arrows. The gear selector and handbrake lever are covered in leather.

It is worth noting that the equipment of the Lada Vesta “Sport” is still kept secret, as are many of its technical characteristics. Some items required in the WTCC model are still not finalized; others are an industrial secret designed to surprise participants in upcoming racing competitions.
Many elements of the new Lada Vesta “Sport”, of course, are already known to the public thanks to interviews taken with the plant’s designers and articles in magazines dedicated to the automotive topic. It is worth considering the known components in more detail.
The power unit on the racing model, as you would expect, is characterized by extremely high power and dynamics. The engine has a power of 380 horsepower with a volume of 1.6 liters; Its manufacturer is the French factory ORECA, famous in the world of racing events. The XTRACK transmission has six stages, and, remarkably, it can be used both as an automatic transmission (once the car’s engine reaches a certain gear ratio) and as a manual transmission (there is manual control in the form of a familiar lever).
The stability and control system did not escape noticeable changes either. A more powerful three-disc clutch guarantees better contact with the track - which is vital at speeds above 200 km/h (the sports model's top speed is around 270 km/h). The WTCC Lada Vesta model will have a significantly reduced ground clearance: in conditions of ideal racing track surfaces, a large gap between the bottom and the road is unnecessary and only harms, worsening aerodynamics and reducing the downforce of the air flow.
It also became known that the Lada Vesta “Sport” will have front-wheel drive. The size of the wheels is not known for certain, but automobile experts believe that it is unlikely that their radius will be less than eighteen inches (the larger the wheel size, the higher the speed the car develops at the same engine speed).
In addition to the elements strictly necessary for the car, made in the highest quality, the Lada Vesta “Sport” will be equipped with a large number of useful body tuning that improves aerodynamic properties. AvtoVAZ structural divisions are actively working on the configuration and equipment of the Lada Vesta Sport. It is expected that the new product will receive a 1.8-liter engine, the number of horsepower will be increased from 122 to 150. The presentation is scheduled for 2021.

I would like 6th gear, because on the highway this is a necessary thing. In the city, 5 mortars are enough. Already the aforementioned squeaking noise when braking. Well, I became the owner of the long-awaited Lada Vesta Sport. Briefly about the car, steering and brakes are just fire! I’m not putting any pressure on the engine yet, as it’s just being run-in) But it feels like there’s traction from the bottom! In general, the car is fire and I don’t regret the fact that I paid more than a cartoon for it! Currently the mileage is 1,600 km)
It is at least no worse than foreign cars in a similar price segment. The suspension “swallows” road irregularities, but remains moderately stiff and comfortable. Turns - with a bang! In fact, it is very good in turns, and the lateral supports of the seats tenaciously hold the driver and do not allow him to lose control of the road.
The engine in the Vesta Sport is enough for me both for the city and for the highway! The brakes are good, they cope with adequate speed, I haven’t tried to brake to the floor from 150, I hope it won’t come to that, I’m not a racer, I mostly ride with my family. The clearance allows you to drive along curbs)) They say the box is howling, well, I don’t know, I don’t hear anything, everything works in normal mode, no louder than at the same fluence, or maybe I just didn’t listen to that extent. The suspension can be somewhat noisy, but it is energy-intensive.

The new Lada Vesta Sport is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine, boosted from 122 to 145 hp. and from 170 to 187 Nm. The engine is mated to a Renault five-speed manual transmission with cable shift mechanism. The drive shafts have been strengthened, the number of splines has increased from 24 to 29. Of course, the design of the new Lada Vesta Sport 2021 is the strongest point of the car. The new body differs from the regular Vesta with very aggressive body kits, a lot of relief, wheels and optics.
The front part of the car differs least from the starting version of the sedan. She is still the same short and low, but a decent amount of aggression comes from her. This is facilitated by the new hood, which has a large recess in the center and slightly protruding side parts. As before, the radiator grille here takes the shape of the letter “X”. On top of it you can find the largest cutout, which provides air access to the engine compartment. This cutout ends on both sides with aggressive headlights, positioned at an angle and filled with halogens or xenon.
As for the body kit, there are also plenty of interesting elements. In the center there is another huge cutout that improves the cooling of the engine compartment. Also, the side parts were not left without bars. In the extended configuration, they also include built-in fog signals. Naturally, the body is decorated to the maximum with all sorts of relief.
The most formidable part here is the rear of the car. The short but tall trunk boasts a slightly angled lid, equipped with a spoiler lip for better aerodynamics. Next are slightly inclined rectangular headlights, as well as the embossed main part of the door. What attracts the most attention is the body kit, which takes up almost a third of the entire bumper area. Here you can find massive air intakes located on the sides, a diffuser with another false mesh and a metal insert with two huge exhaust pipes located at different edges.

In the interior design of the Lada Vesta Sport 2021, one of the key elements is the “red ribbon” running along the perimeter of the body. Red accents, designed to emphasize the sporty character of the new version, are also present in the interior. Red Alcantara inserts with X-graphics are made on the front seats, the main upholstery of which is eco-leather with a “carbon” texture and red stitching. In addition, the inscription “Vesta Sport” is embroidered on the backs of the seats below the headrests. This is not visible in the photo, but... The steering wheel, manual gearbox and parking brake handle are also trimmed in black eco-leather.
The instrument panel of the new product has an exclusive design and backlighting in red, the air ducts received a black glossy coating, which is repeated on the door handles, while the door and front panels have carbon-look decorative inserts. The ceiling and pillars of the car are upholstered in black material.
In the center of the dashboard there is always a huge multimedia system monitor, from which almost all the functionality of the car is configured. Next to it you can see neat air ducts framed with black glossy elements. A little lower is a modest console, which includes climate control washers.
The tunnel, unfortunately, is not luxurious. It turned out to be very thin and short. The designers managed to place here such elements as cup holders, an undisguised organizer for things, a gearbox control knob, buttons for activating heated seats and an armrest, which, like in the previous Vesta, is equipped with a regular or cooled glove compartment.
All seats in the car have undergone significant modifications. All of them will be finished with higher quality fabrics and even artificial leather. Also, the front seats now have pronounced lateral support and excellent headrests, the tilt of which can be adjusted to suit you. The seats located in the front also boast a heating system, installed in any configuration, and electrical position adjustments in several directions. The back row has become more spacious and comfortable. Here you can also find heating, but in an expanded version, an armrest with holes for glasses and an adjustable backrest.
