When it comes to repairs, there will be no problem boring out the cast-iron block, installing a new piston and moving on. That is, this engine is not one of those disposable ones that most modern cars are now stuffed with. In terms of power, it is quite enough, fuel consumption is also good. If you adhere to a moderate driving style, you can achieve 7.5-8.0 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle.
All trim levels come standard with BOSCH ABS. The latest generation software, version 9.1, is used.

Advantages of the new VAZ Vesta. Handles the road well. The handling is amazing, and the faster you drive it, the better it steers. My back doesn’t get stiff, I drove 400 km one way and I’m not really tired. The noise is good, I was also pleased (no, I won’t pull this foamy crap out of the wing that absorbs dirt, let it rot, my ears are more valuable to me).
The 1.6 engine drives better with our gearbox, I tried it with a Renault gearbox - so turn out the lights altogether. In general, anyone who wants to buy an inexpensive car to take themselves from point A to point B, I think that our Ladas can now cope with this.

When I drove my new Vesta for the first time, I immediately realized that the device was worthy, there was no overpricing for it. As for an ordinary citizen, a car for home-kindergarten-school-work trips and weekend trips to the shops and outings is an excellent option. Fuel consumption, oddly enough, is also low - during the engine run-in, about 9 liters in the city. Outside the city it is much less so.
The car holds the road just fine, there are no unnecessary noises or knocks, the variator with a shift simulation function, disc brakes - everything is very good. In a word, it’s a great car, I don’t regret buying it at all - it’s a pleasure to drive.

The 1.8 (21179) engine is more powerful and more flexible than the 1.6 (21129). You quickly get used to it, and the main difference is that you drive with it at half pedal. It is similar in character to the 1.6: it is quieter and starts a little faster (with 1-2 turns of the starter). My engine doesn't burn oil. Unlike the Granta, there is almost no vibration on the body.
The AMT robot was originally 1.0, but I immediately upgraded it to 2.0, as I had heard about the benefits of the new settings. I liked the robot in this form, especially after the mechanics. It takes some getting used to, but it's not annoying at all. Of course, after a conventional automatic transmission it is perceived as something deeply alternative.
The gear ratios are VAZ ones, not the most pleasant to use, but if you get used to, for example, turning the engine up to 3.5 thousand in first, then it’s quite okay. The main thing is that you don’t have to think about the gear, press the clutch, pull the handle - you go faster and relax. In my understanding, a robot is a complete alternative and replacement for mechanics. By the way, AMT, like manual transmission, still howls.

I was pleased with the suspension, well, I was so pleased, I drove about 100 km in total on it, but I haven’t noticed any knocks yet: neither small nor large, to say the least. The car really floats down the road, but what really upset me is the gearbox. It switches clearly, just the good old whine that was on my Grant is also present here.
I was also disappointed by the consumption of 11 liters on the side of the car; the engine is not running yet, although I understand that it is being run-in. I was pleased with the music, there really isn’t enough bass, but this can be solved by installing a subwoofer.

In terms of dynamics, the new Lada Vesta 2021 does not have enough stars in the sky, especially when it comes to cars with 1.6-liter engines. As for transmissions, the relatively new version of the model with a CVT looks preferable to the discontinued version with the AMT robot.
The new “automatic transmission” (as it is called at AvtoVAZ) works quietly and smoothly, and such a car feels best within the city, where the need for sudden and strong acceleration is minimized.
As for the suspension, among budget sedans Lada Vesta has almost perfect balance in the operation of the chassis. The VAZ four-door calmly handles any unevenness in the road surface and at the same time is not afraid of turns at high speed.
The interior of the Lada Vesta is one of the most spacious in the class, while the front passengers are designed to be pleased with the successful profile of the seats. To reduce the likelihood of slipping, engineers equipped the Lada Vesta with a PCS system. A gear shift guidance system can be added here.
The rear sofa has a folding backrest, which significantly increases the comfort of movement in Vesta. Passengers can charge phones and small gadgets at a 12V outlet.
