Many features of the Lada Vesta are hidden by the manufacturer and are inaccessible to most drivers. At the same time, technically everything necessary for the operation of the systems in the car is present - you just need to activate the functions.
In this article, we will analyze the hidden capabilities of the Lada Vesta and Khrey in the Luxury trim levels and show how comfortable the car can be.
To enable the options, you simply need to reconfigure the control units. The master of our STOSHIL unit needs only 30-40 minutes for such work.
All of the listed hidden features do not affect the operation of other vehicle systems. This is simply a machine functionality blocked by the manufacturer that needs to be activated.
Headlight adjustment
The instructions for adjusting the headlights are the same and are carried out according to the diagram (it must be placed on the wall):
- The car should be perpendicular to the smooth wall at a distance of 3 meters.
- Place a 75 kg weight on the driver's seat or have an assistant sit on the seat.
- Line 0 should run along the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the car.
- Lines 1 and 2 should run through the centers of the low beam lamps.
- The distance from the centers of the headlights to the floor is the distance h on the screen.
- Set the electric corrector on the panel to the position with the load of one driver.
- Cover the light of one headlight with thick material.
- Turn on the low beam headlights and check the location of the light spots on the wall.
If the light spots do not match the pattern, then adjust the low beam by turning the adjustment screws on the headlight unit. One screw is responsible for adjusting the light horizontally, the other - vertically.
The headlights on Vesta are considered adjusted if the upper boundaries of the left parts of the light spots coincide with line 4, and the vertical lines 1 and 2 pass through the intersection points E1 and E2 of the horizontal and inclined sections of the light spots. We check and adjust the second headlight in the same way.
While operating the car, do not forget to adjust the headlights using the electric corrector, depending on the load in the trunk.
Why don't the lights light up?
Malfunctions that occur in the operation of side lights worry every motorist because it makes it difficult to use the car at night. After all, the traffic rules clearly state the requirements when stopping the car and turning off the ignition at night to indicate the car with illuminated side lights. Failures in the side light circuit can manifest themselves in different ways.
One of the side light bulbs does not light up. The most likely cause is a burned out light bulb. Less common problems with poor contact are oxidation or poor connection. And very rarely - a breakdown in the wiring to the contact group of this light bulb. Although rare, this also happens. If the light bulb burns out, it needs to be replaced. To do this you need:

a) when replacing the marker lamp in the front headlight:
– turn off all exterior lights and open the hood
– unscrew the screws securing the plastic casing on the headlamp with inoperative headlights
– having pulled out the socket with the burnt-out light bulb, remove it and replace it with a working one, without disconnecting the block with wires
– install the cartridge and casing in place
b) when replacing the side light bulb in the rear light unit:
– turn off the lights and open the trunk
– remove the decorative upholstery and pull out the block with wires from the contact group
– squeeze the side clamps and pull out the contact panel for the rear light with the non-working bulb
– remove the burnt out lamp by pressing it and turning it counterclockwise
– install a new lighting fixture and install the panel in the reverse order
- The side lights button does not turn on (the indicator lamp on the button does not light up). The reason is mainly due to oxidized contacts, which must be cleaned and washed with alcohol by removing the key block from the socket. Fuse F10 may fail, but then the sidebar lamps on the left side should not light up. On a VAZ 2114, an oversized fuse does not blow out very often, especially since wide plastic fuses with good contacts are currently installed in the mounting block.
- Blinking when the lights are on or a weak glow of the lamps. The main reason for such manifestations is the oxidation of the contacts in the circuit. First of all, you need to check and clean the contact group in the mounting block in the fuse circuit. The same is possible in contact groups of specific side light lamps. Do not forget that the machine is operated in conditions of high humidity and oxidation is a normal physical phenomenon that must be taken into account.
- The headlight fuse is constantly on. The reason must be sought in the mounting block. Possibly bad contacts in the fuse contact group.
Repair
To repair the steering column turn switch on a Lada Vesta or X-Ray, you first need to remove it.
Dismantling
When removing the element, you can do without dismantling the airbag, steering wheel and the entire unit (volatile). Both switches (right and left) are removed in the same way.
First you need to remove the plastic cover that covers the steering column. To do this, unscrew 2 bolts and snap off the fasteners.
Then unscrew the 2 mounting screws holding the switch.
Next, disconnect the plug.
In the end, all that remains is to remove the switch from the block.
Finalization
Once the switch is removed, it needs to be disassembled. First, the filling is removed, for which, if necessary, it is preheated with a technical hair dryer.
Next, unscrew a couple of screws and release 2 latches and remove the cover.
Then, in order to independently repair the steering column switch of Vesta or X-Ray, you need to find a poorly cast element. In this case, it is a white part.
This component must be pryed off with a flat screwdriver and removed.
Then, using sandpaper, the walls should be trimmed.
Once this is done, the component is placed in place and lubricated.
This completes the independent modification of the steering column switch for Lada Vesta or X-Ray.

Looking ahead, I will say that I tested all the software and scripts, links to which I will post below, on at least 5 machines, including mine, without any negative consequences.
Vesta can activate/deactivate the following functions, which are initially deactivated and are not available to the owner by standard means. In particular, these are the functions:
1) Disable/enable the mode of automatic activation of the rear wiper when reverse gear is engaged, if the front wiper was turned on for several minutes before that. For certain reasons that do not require explanation, this option is not available to owners of the Vesta sedan. It is enabled by default. I personally disabled this function to check the operation and turned it back on, because... I am completely satisfied with its presence. But I turned it off to a sufficient number of acquaintances at their request.
Fuse
The very first step in diagnosing this problem is to check the fuses. The block is located on the left side of the instrument panel, under the plastic shield. You need to find three protective elements in it:
- F9(3A) – responsible for the turn signal in the left mirror;
- F18(3A) – for the right repeater;
- F12(15A) – BCM controller (body control module), responsible for the rest.
Each of them should be removed and checked for integrity. If a blown fuse is detected, it is replaced with a similar one. But it must be remembered that the protective elements do not simply burn out; there may have been a network overload or short circuit. If the situation repeats, contact the service center.
Why do the headlights on the West sweat?
Drivers experience fogging in their car headlights. There is no need to worry if the phenomenon is infrequent and localized. When this happens over the entire area of the headlight and constantly, then the problem needs to be solved.
Most brands of foreign concerns provide for updating the entire unit under warranty at the nearest service station. The Russian manufacturer does not have such a service; responsibility for the problem lies with the driver.
Fogging is associated with changes in temperature and humidity. The lamp heats the environment, including the glass. With certain defects in the housing and climate conditions, condensation will form.
Also, the most common reasons are a crack in the glass or clogged ventilation shafts.
The danger of the phenomenon lies in the fact that at night the driver may not see an obstacle or ditch, as a result of which accidents occur. Other road users may not be able to see the turn signal while the vehicle is making the maneuver.
A proven method of combating fogging is to disassemble the headlights, dry them and then reinstall them.
Doors, locking and unlocking
Here you can set the time after which the central lock will close again after opening. The default is 120 seconds. Next, you can set the speed at which the central locking occurs (default is 20 km per hour).
