On the Lada Vesta, the design of the front suspension is not much different from previous VAZ models. Main components:
- Stabilizer's pole;
- Oil shock absorbers;
- Springs;
- Silent blocks;
- Suspension arms;
- Stretcher;
- Rubber boots, bushings.
During the operation of the machine, parts wear out, become deformed, and break into pieces. The simplicity of the suspension design allows you to carry out repairs yourself. We contact the service station in case of major repairs of the unit.

To the surprise of most Lada Vesta car owners, the model can be equipped with stabilizer bars from RAV 4 (TOYOTA RAV4), article number 48820-42020. The diameter is identical, completely matches. The same cannot be said about the length of the rod - 285 mm. In fact, 10.0 mm longer than standard size. However, this does not prevent the front suspension from working properly.
Before purchasing spare parts, do not forget to check the catalog number against the data in the operating instructions. Manufacturer's warranty is 80,000 km.
Principle of operation
The stabilizer is a metal pipe that connects to the front wheels of the vehicle. Fastening is carried out using cylindrical rubber. This is the stabilizer bushing. Its task is to ensure rotation of the stabilizing unit relative to the machine.
The suspension is a familiar analogue of the French Renault car. It works great on the roads of the post-Soviet space. Therefore, no technical changes have occurred in the design of the suspension system.
The operating principle of the Lada Vesta anti-roll bar struts is similar to its French counterpart.
Lada Vesta suspension diagnostics
Before starting repairs, be sure to carry out diagnostics. This is necessary to assess the condition of the machine, identify breakdowns, and correctly calculate spare parts and consumables.
The process is not at all complicated, you can do it on your own. If you encounter any difficulties with installation, please read the instructions and watch video tutorials on the Internet.
- We drive the car into the inspection hole, fix the rear row of wheels with boots to avoid any arbitrary rollback;
- Jack up the side and remove the wheel;
- From under the bottom we press on the stabilizer bar, check for play, deformation, cracks;
- Additionally, we inspect the condition of adjacent parts, levers, and mechanisms.
To check the tightness of the fit, we use a metal pry bar. We summarize, analyze the received data, and calculate the number of necessary spare parts.
Finally, we check the brake pads, disc, and cylinder. If the actual thickness of the pads is less than 17.0 mm, they must be replaced with new ones. Subsequent operation of the vehicle is unsafe.

Causes of wear on Lada Vesta suspension
- Saving on maintenance of technical equipment;
- Purchase and installation of low-quality parts;
- Violation of the rules for operating the vehicle by the driver;
- Manufacturing defect;
- Natural wear and tear of components due to prolonged use without intermediate preventive maintenance;
- Rupture of the boot, water entering the metal structure;
- Excessive wear of subframe silent blocks.
↑ Diagnostics: how to understand when you need to change struts
The first sign that the strut is out of order is a characteristic knocking sound that appears when you hit a bump or the wheel gets into small holes. It appears after 5 thousand kilometers, not earlier. As a rule, knocking does not appear constantly, but periodically.
Due to the poor quality of roads, the anthers tear quite quickly. Because of this, dust and dirt gets inside, “eating up” the stabilizer elements. Over time, play appears in the hinge joint, which is the cause of extraneous noise.
Replacing stabilizer struts on Lada Vesta
We replace suspension elements in pairs; it is unsafe to leave worn parts in their original places. Repeated repairs will be required soon.
- We drive the Lada Vesta into the inspection channel and ensure safety measures during the work;
- Jack up the side, unscrew the bolts, remove the wheel;
- Alternately unscrew the upper and lower mounts of the stabilizer bar;
- We carry out troubleshooting of the mounting socket, if there are no defects, we install a new stand and screw the nuts.
If the silent blocks need to be replaced, additionally unscrew the fastening of the ball joint and remove the suspension arm. We fix it in a stationary vice and press out the worn silent blocks. We troubleshoot the lugs, clean the surface of rubber residues, and press in new polyurethane bushings. We assemble the structure in reverse order.
Motorists claim that polyurethane bushings are interchangeable with Lada Kalina. It is not yet known what they are suitable for.
Sometimes the source of the knock is worn out cross member bushings. To replace consumables, additionally unscrew the beam mount, remove the rubber bushings, and install new ones. We screw the mechanisms back on.
Replacing stabilizer bushings on Lada Vesta - instructions with photos and videos
Almost without exception, owners of Lada Vesta and Vesta SV Cross cars immediately after purchasing the car begin to notice a characteristic creaking of the suspension in the front part.
After searching for the sources of the squeak, it turns out that the culprit is the stabilizer bar rubber. Or rather, the material from which they are made is to blame.
Most likely, this is a design miscalculation or another attempt by AvtoVAZ to save money.
What can be done to get rid of the creaking of stabilizer bushings on the Lada Vesta?
First, you can simply lubricate the rubber bands with grease. WD-40 or any other similar lubricant will work great. However, over time, the creaking will appear again, as the lubricant will dry out or be washed out. Therefore, the procedure will have to be repeated.
Secondly, you can purchase new stabilizer bushings. But it is far from a fact that this will help or solve the problem forever, since the material itself will remain unchanged. And most likely it will also creak over time.
Thirdly, you can install rubber bands of a suitable size from another car. As practice shows, stabilizer bushings from Chevrolet Niva or Kia Rio (Hyundai Solaris) remain suitable options.
From Niva, the bushings fit without any modifications, and in order to install Korean rubber bands, you will need to purchase the clamps themselves for them.
However, Nivov rubber bands do not always solve the problem, but when installing rubber bands from Kia or Hyundai, you can completely forget about the squeaking of bushings.
This is what the original stabilizer rubber bands look like in comparison with the rubber bands from the Kia Rio:

Replacing stabilizer bushings Lada Vesta
If we talk about the complexity of the work, then there is nothing complicated at all in replacing the stabilizer bushings on a Lada Vesta. To do everything quickly and correctly, all you need is a little time, tools, and follow our instructions.
It is important to understand that when replacing the Lada Vesta stabilizer bushings, it is necessary to completely remove the load from them. To do this, you simply need to raise the front wheels so that they do not touch the ground. This can be done by lifting the front of the car with two jacks. Or first lift one side and put a stop under it and then lift the second side.
The main difficulty in replacing stabilizer bushings on a Lada Vesta is that without minimal disassembly it is almost impossible to install new bushings. But, if you cut the bushing, you can actually install it without any problems.
So, progress of work. Once the front wheels are in the air, you can gradually begin to do the work. Take the T40 key and unscrew the 2 bolts securing the bushing clamp on the passenger side.
We move the clamp to the side, remove the old bushing (thanks to the cut on it, this is very easy to do). We install the new bushing in place. If there is no cut on it, then we make it on a new elastic band.
Then we put everything back together in reverse order.
But on the clamp, which is installed on the driver’s side, difficulties arise in dismantling one of the bolts. The fact is that it is completely impossible to unscrew it without dismantling the protective screen. This is not the easiest or fastest activity.
Therefore, we will proceed as follows. We unscrew one bolt completely. We do not unscrew the second bolt completely, but about 2/3. This will give us the opportunity to rotate the clamp 180 degrees to remove the bushing and install a new one.
That's what we do.
Then we stretch the clamp. At this point, the replacement of the Lada Vesta stabilizer bushings can be considered complete. Now no creaks or extraneous sounds will disturb you, and your Lada Vesta will go over all bumps very quietly and smoothly.

What you need to know about the rear suspension elements of the Lada Vesta
In the rear part, the suspension function is performed by a torsion beam, shock absorbers, springs, silent blocks pressed into the beam.
As the machine is used, parts wear out, backlash is formed, and free play increases. To eliminate the defect, it is necessary to replace the rear suspension elements.
- After removing the wheel, unscrew the upper and lower fastenings of the shock absorber strut assembly with the spring. Next, we unscrew the beam fastening, press out the silent blocks, inspect the mounting socket, and press in new bushings.
- Sometimes sagging rear springs make a metallic knock. Inexperienced motorists mistake this for a knocking sound from the stabilizer bar. To replace the spring, first remove the rear shock absorber and spring assembly.
- Using a crab-shaped puller, we compress several turns of the spring and disassemble the module. We install a new spring and assemble the structure.
- At the same time, we carry out troubleshooting of the brake circuit, pads, disc, and working cylinder. If the actual thickness of the pads is less than 19.0 mm, replace them with new ones. Subsequent operation of the machine is unsafe.

Tips for caring for Lada Vesta suspension
- We adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the interval of scheduled technical inspection - every 15,000 km;
- The average service life of the suspension is 60 – 65 thousand km. Mandatory preventive maintenance after 15,000 km;
- Purchase components from official points, representative offices, dealers;
- Order paid car repair services only from those service stations that provide a quality guarantee for the work performed;
- Always check the compatibility of parts according to the catalog numbers specified in the operating instructions;
- After carrying out repair work at the service center, check that the technicians have entered maintenance data into the service book.
Driver, remember that a moderate driving style and original parts increase the service life of Lada Vesta parts by 7 - 10%.
Which stabilizer struts are best to install? Obviously, new ones and with factory catalog numbers. Installing parts from other models is a temporary solution to the problem, not always effective or correct.
Diagnostics
The first signal of failure of the element in question can be heard after 5 thousand kilometers. We are talking about a characteristic knocking sound when the wheel hits a small obstacle or falls into a hole. The knocking sound may appear, suddenly disappear and resume again.
The quality of our roads cannot be called ideal, so the anthers are the first to suffer and tear. As a result, dirt and dust seeps inside. They are the cause of premature failure of the elements of the stabilizing system. Further, play forms in the ball joint: this is the cause of the noise.
Having discovered an emerging problem and determined the condition of the Lada Vesta stabilizer struts, a set of diagnostic measures will be required.
Today, service centers are armed with enough modern instruments and devices that can determine the technical condition of a vehicle.
After the verdict is made, you can make a decision:
- What components to install: original or analogue.
- Where to carry out the replacement: in a car service or in your garage, on your own.
Lada Vesta SW Cross Red Vesta › Logbook › Replacing shock absorbers on Acomi
What's wrong with this photo of the front arch of the Lada Vesta SV Cross? That's right, there shouldn't be any blue in there!
So, this morning I picked up my racks at the TK terminal and immediately went to a familiar service center, where notorious jokers were already waiting for me with this season’s hits about the unreliability of VAZ cars. Replacing shock absorbers with a mileage of less than 20 is, admittedly, a good reason for such jokes. I laughed along with everyone, but I thought to myself that, for example, such cases - www.drive2.ru/l/524274358110129218/ - also happen, so nothing is perfect. In general, I handed over the car and left.
2.5 hours later they called me and offered to come and accept the job. And I rushed...
For the impatient, I will inform you that no miracle happened and perfect silence in the suspension operation could not be achieved only by replacing the struts. However, in general, I do not regret at all that I decided to make this replacement, because the positive result is very noticeable and it is well worth the money spent.
The most important change is that you no longer feel like you are riding a cart (especially the first couple of kilometers after a frosty night), i.e. on small bumps at low speeds the knocking went away completely. My wife has an XRay and the performance of its suspension on this road makes me very happy. Now the Vesta suspension works in much the same way - elastic and pleasant. There are no mutterings, sniffles, clangs or booms left.
On larger irregularities, everything is ambiguous, for example, on transverse seams, sounds like “knock-knock” are replaced by more noble clicking sounds. On larger seams there is a feeling of almost breakdown of the shock absorber, but on the old suspension it was about the same.
I saw a review where they say that with Acomi shock absorbers the suspension becomes stiffer. To be honest, I didn’t think so. Or maybe even a little bit the other way around. At the same time, the steering accuracy was not affected (although I have not driven it on the highway yet).
I tried to record 2 videos - before replacing the suspension and after (almost like Energetik’s), but it was not possible to reflect the changes in these videos (just like, again, Energetik - he says that there is no noise left, but in the frame you can almost hear Thunder and lightning). The recorder records sound in such a way that it is impossible to make out the nature of the sounds. In reality, they (the sounds before and after) are very different and the difference is entirely on the side of Asomi's stands.
Perhaps something will change with more thorough testing, so if there is anything, I will add to the post. In the meantime, I will be happy to drive my updated Vesta.
All the best!
PS: Regarding the videos. This morning I took a ride on a cold suspension and realized that, after all, the performance of the suspension with the new struts is incomparably better than with the old ones. But in the video you can see, or rather hear, something completely different. Therefore, I’d better remove them so as not to mislead people. I definitely recommend Asomi stands as an alternative to relatives.
