In this regard, a full comparison is not yet possible, since sales of the Lada Vesta began quite recently and now you can only buy a car with a 106-horsepower engine. Regarding the remaining engines, technical data on them is available, but some nuances regarding operational characteristics are unclear.


In terms of technical characteristics, the Lada Vesta is ahead of its rival in everything - its engine range is wider (3 engines versus 2), and the units themselves are more powerful. The choice of transmissions is also wider. Both cars are equipped only with gasoline, naturally aspirated engines with a volume of 1.6 liters, in-line cylinder layout, distributed fuel injection (injector) and transverse arrangement.

The first power unit of Renault Logan is an 82-horsepower 8-valve. Its output is small and amounts to only 82 horses at 5,000 rpm, but this is partly compensated by the torque of 134 Nm at 2,800 rpm. Its dynamics are mediocre, as is its maximum speed – 11.9 seconds. up to hundreds and 179 km/h, respectively. But the consumption is unpleasantly impressive - in the city it reaches 9.8 liters.

The more powerful brother already has 16 valves, thanks to which its output increases to 102 horses, but the peak speed is shifted even further up - by 5,750 rpm. The thrust also increased slightly (up to 145 “newtons”), as well as its peak speed – 3,750 rpm. The dynamic characteristics of this modification are noticeably better and it reaches hundreds in 10.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 180 km. Consumption, of course, is not the smallest - 9.4 l (city).

Vesta can oppose the first Renault Logan engine with a domestically produced 8-valve engine of similar design (series 21116). Its power is slightly greater and amounts to 87 horses, which is available at 5,100 rpm, with 140 Nm of torque at 3,800 rpm. The dynamics will be approximately equal to Granta with the same engine - about 12.2 seconds. up to 100 km/h, with a maximum speed of 167 km/h and a consumption of 9 liters.

Nowadays Lada Vesta is sold with a 106-horsepower 16-valve version 21127, all the power of which is achieved at 5,800 rpm, with 148 Nm of thrust at 4,800 rpm. Despite similar characteristics, Vesta loses to the French sedan in dynamics - 11.8 seconds. versus 10.5 sec. up to one hundred square meters, which is partly due to the weight, since the Russian model is 100 kg heavier. Max speed is 178 km/h, with an appetite of 9.3 liters.

The top-end HR16DE-H4M engine from Alliance Renault Nissan has been derated to 114 horsepower (from the original 117 hp). Peak power is achievable at 6,000 rpm, and 158 Nm of thrust is available at 4,000 rpm. In terms of dynamics, it is in no way inferior to the Renault Logan engine, reaching 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, with a top speed of 192 km/h. But its consumption is significantly lower and only slightly exceeds 8 liters when driving around the city.

In addition, there is information about the development of a 1.8-liter domestic engine, intended primarily for the X-Ray model. However, it will not be installed on Vesta before September 2021, and its characteristics are still classified.

Equipment and cost

The Vesta's configuration is superior to that of the Logan; it is equipped with four trim levels. The basic configuration of Logan is empty. You need to take it if you are really short on money. This configuration costs 419,000 rubles. Not enough for 2021.

The impressive dashboard, with its deep wells, immediately sets the mood for drive, the multi-function steering wheel is very convenient, the dashboard floating towards the riders creates a feeling of massiveness, the seating is comfortable, and the ergonomics are in perfect order. There is plenty of space in the back, but the piled-up roof will make it difficult for tall passengers to fit comfortably. The luggage compartment of both models is worthy of respect - the Lada Vesta has 480 liters of usable volume, and the Renault Logan has 510 liters!

But Logan has a big advantage in price. Minimum cost 419,000 rub. versus RUB 514,000 - this is a big difference for the B segment. Of course, after the release of Vesta with an 87-horsepower engine, the price will be reduced, but obviously not to the level of Logan. However, Renault’s equipment is much poorer - the base does not have electronic security systems, steering wheel adjustments, amplifier only for an extra charge, etc. Prices in the top versions are 674,000 rubles. for Renault Logan and 658,000 rubles. for Lada Vesta. But this price tag is not final, since there are no Russian cars with a 114-horsepower power unit on sale yet. With it, Vesta will cost even more.
